A fruitful year for APSD Agenda 21
The year 2012 has been a fruitful for APSD Agenda 21 and it will continue with many important events and activities
Assistance and programs for sustainable development (APSD Agenda 21), the observer member of MIJARC Europe, is developing two major projects at the moment, one focusing on the participation of young people from rural areas and of young people benefiting from the social assistance and child care services in Romania, called "Involving young people with fewer opportunities in the decision making process". The second one is a three-year project on development education, "Millennium Development Goals Realisation: Involving High School Students and Educators in Development Education Programmes and Projects", which has already resulted in the creation of a school curriculum on development education and its implementation in twelve schools.
APSD Agenda 21 has been the national coordinator of the European Youth Conference "Let's Take Care of the Planet" and it was represented by a facilitator, two pupils and one teacher at European Conference in Brussels.
For the next period APSD Agenda 21 is planning a national camp on development education with participants from different European and African countries, such as Bulgaria, Italy, UK, and Tanzania. In addition to this, the association will be represented by its beneficiaries from rural areas to activities developed by MIJARC Europe: a seminar on the topic of migration "Migration - Challenge for European Rural Development" and MIJARC Europe's Summer Camp. In July, APSD Agenda 21 is organizing an international seminar where 16 young people from Romania and Italy will meet in order to create a strategy for the participation of young people with fewer opportunities. Last but not least, APSD Agenda 21 is happy to announce that in 2013 Romania will be the host of MIJARC Europe Summer Camp.
